Disputes

New Disputes

You can initiate a new dispute regarding your data on VerifyAdvantage®. Initiating a dispute allows you to explain what you are disputing and will block access to your information (from non-governmental Requestors) until you remove the block or close the dispute.

To create a new dispute:

  1. From the VerifyAdvantage® home page, click Employee and log in.

  2. From the navigation menu, go to My Account and then click on New Dispute.

  3. At the Initiate Dispute page, enter the report serial number (also referred to as a document tracking number) located at the top of your report.

  4. Read the information detailing the formal dispute process. Note that your account access will be initially blocked to all non-governmental requestors until the dispute is resolved.

NOTE: You can change this setting after creating the dispute by going to My Account > Manage Profile and removing the check in the Block Access checkbox.

  1. Type your dispute information in the text box provided and click Save .

NOTE: If a Requestor has been authorized to view your data and you have initiated a dispute before the Requestor was able to purchase your report, you will need to unblock your account for the Requestor to access your information.

  1. You should now receive an Information message advising that your dispute has been successfully submitted to FADV customer support and a Customer Service Representative will contact you within 30 days with a dispute status.

NOTE: You may now select another menu option from the navigation pane along the top of the page or logout of the system.
